REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be a resident in the Groton Central School District (GCSD)
• Candidates for the office of Trustee shall be nominated by petition. The petition shall be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the GCSD

QUALITIES OF AN EFFECTIVE TRUSTEE:

• Belief in our library’s importance as an integral part of the community’s culture, recreation and education
• Readiness to volunteer time and effort. The Board meets once a month and includes committee work
• An open mind, curiosity and respect for the opinions of others
• Initiative and ability to establish policies for the successful operation of the library and inclusive service for all users

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Financial skills helpful
• Computer literacy
• Advocacy
• Ideas for reaching diverse populations

Trustees are responsible for developing library policies as well as hiring and overseeing the Library Director.

We have Tax Packets and two Tax Guides available at our front desk!

These books are only for in-library use and are NOT available to be checked out. They be available at the front desk. You can use them in the library.

After the April deadline – they will be allowed to be borrowed for one week at a time.

Beginner AI Workshop with Gretchen Schoser.
