We plan to reopen for contactless curbside pickup ONLY starting June 16, 2020! You can place a hold using our online catalog. If you need assistance, you may call the Library but as staff don’t have regular hours yet, you may not reach anyone. If that happens, DO NOT leave a message as it could get lost. Try back again until someone picks up. We hope this changes soon as we work on getting staff back in to the Library on a regular basis.
Groton’s Pickup Hours:
Tuesday: 1 – 6 PM
Wednesday: 1 – 6 PM
Thursday: 1 – 6 PM
Friday: 1 – 6 PM
Saturday: 10 AM – 2 PM
Guidelines for Pickup:
- You MUST wear a mask, even if you don’t get out of your car.
- When you arrive, pop your trunk. If you have to open it manually, quickly get out and do so. Then quickly get back in your vehicle.
- Call the Library to let Staff know you are here. Tell them your name, vehicle make and color.
- Staff will be out shortly with your materials.
- Do NOT roll down your window or get out of your car.
- Staff will place materials in your car then walk back inside the Library.
- Once they are inside the Library, you may get out to close your trunk.
In order to safely quarantine materials, we cannot accept returns in person during curbside pick up. Instead, please use the book drop when we are closed. While materials will be prepared for pick up using COVID-19 safety measures, we recommend that you use the same protocols as materials come home with you. Please continue to visit us virtually, as you once again enjoy our print books, dvds, and more.
With NYS Governor Cuomo’s order of 100% of non-essential workforce employees to stay home, the staff of Groton Public Library are working from home. A reminder that no one is in the Library on a daily basis anymore. Sara checks in on Tuesdays and that is it. If we can help you remotely in any way, please leave a message at (607) 898-5055 or email Sara at firstname.lastname@example.org Leave your name, inquiry, and best way to reach you. We will try to respond as quickly as possible. Thank you all for your patience at this unprecedented time!
With schools and many other places (including libraries) closed, keeping children entertained while also providing an educational aspect is tough. We’ve created a list of resources available to you for FREE.
Finger Lakes Library System has put together a list of FREE virtual (online) resources to use during this time.
In addition, keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages as we will be sharing updates, other resources, and some fun videos.
While you can’t currently check physical items out of our library, e-content is still available! For e-books & e-audiobooks – check Overdrive. For e-magazines, check RB Digital (formerly Zinio). For music albums, e-audiobooks, movies, TV shows, e-books, and e-comics, check Hoopla. For learning a new language, check Mango Languages. All of these services are free to use through our Library and there’s plenty of kid content too. All you need is your library card to sign up. If you don’t know your library card number or can’t find your library card, give us a call at 607-898-5055 and we’ll be able to assist you with that!
Remember, the Groton Public Library is temporarily closed due to the pandemic. You can still call with any questions. Thank You!
