REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a resident in the Groton Central School District (GCSD)
- Candidates for the office of Trustee shall be nominated by petition. The petition shall be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the GCSD
QUALITIES OF AN EFFECTIVE TRUSTEE:
- Belief in our library’s importance as an integral part of the community’s culture, recreation and education
- Readiness to volunteer time and effort. The Board meets once a month and includes committee work
- An open mind, curiosity and respect for the opinions of others
- Initiative and ability to establish policies for the successful operation of the library and inclusive service for all users
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Financial skills helpful
- Computer literacy
- Advocacy
- Ideas for reaching diverse populations
